Jennifer Rosner’s first novel, THE YELLOW BIRD SINGS, was a National Jewish Book Award Finalist and a Massachusetts Book Award Honor Book. The New York Times Book Review called it “an exquisite, heart-rending debut” and “an absolutely beautiful and necessary novel.” Her second novel, ONCE WE WERE HOME, was a National Jewish Book Award Finalist and an Association of Jewish Libraries Honor Book. Jennifer is author of the memoir IF A TREE FALLS: A FAMILY'S QUEST TO HEAR AND BE HEARD, and her children's book, THE MITTEN STRING, was named a Sydney Taylor Book Award Notable. Her books have been translated into a dozen languages.
Jennifer’s short writing has appeared in the New York Times, The Times of Israel, The Massachusetts Review, The Forward, and elsewhere. In addition to writing, Jennifer has taught philosophy. She earned her B.A. from Columbia University and her Ph.D. from Stanford University. She lives in Western Massachusetts with her family.
